We had a lot of fun in September learning what it means to take initiative. This month we will be learning about a contentment, which is deciding to be okay with what you have. God wants us to be content because He knows that it is the best way for us to live.

Our memory verse this month is Luke 12:15 - “Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against wanting to have more and more things. Life is not made up of how much a person has.” This verse will remind us that things will never truly satisfy us, but that God can help us be okay no matter what.

This week, we will be looking at Paul’s attitude while he was in prison, a story found in Philippians 4:11b-13. You might expect Paul to struggle with contentment while being in prison. He wouldn’t have had very much to satisfy him while he was imprisoned. However, Paul writes that he has learned how to be content even in this situation. Join us as we learn how to be content like Paul.

This week’s Bottom Line is God can help you be okay no matter what. Being content isn’t always easy, especially when we see someone enjoying something that we don’t have. When you find it hard to be content, remember that God will help you be okay no matter what.

See you Thursday!
